Blender’s Pride Review

Blender’s pride is a very popular brand that is loved by many in the Indian market. The brand’s slogan totally goes with what it has to offer. It says “Good taste stays with you.”

This whiskey is one of the key brands in India, holding a a market share of around 50% in India’s premium blended whisky segment. The whiskey contains no artificial flavouring and has a whiskey blend from Indian grain spirit and Scottish malt. It was launched in 1995 by Pernod Ricard, India, and gained recognition within no time. This whiskey is served best on the rocks, or with sparkling water or on ice. The whiskey retains its tasting notes from Scotch malts and the finest Indian grain spirits. Blender’s Pride’s rate is what makes it more appealing to the masses. It is suited for an average consumer in India. Blender’s Pride’s cost is less as compared to other whiskeys and proves to be a much better alternative than the rest.

Blenders Pride has an alcohol strength of 42.8% ABV. This brand is a culmination of a total of 140 years of Seagram’s whiskey blending traditions. Here are a few other details enlisted about the whiskey:

1. Palate - There isn’t much on the nose at all. It is quite a smooth whiskey. There is a strong influence of grain and it’s clearly young. You may taste hints of shortbread, rice cakes, etc but it’s overall very light on the palate.

2. Finish - The finish of this whiskey is extremely short. Most of it just goes away in a few seconds. The finish can be categorized as grain-influenced with hints of rice-cakes at the end.

3. How to drink it - Blender’s Pride is a grain-based whiskey. Hence, you should first let it roll over your tongue neatly for awhile and then slowly let it all go down your throat. Once you’re familiar with how the taste of the whiskey is, you can add some spoons of sparkling water or soda to it. A lot of people like to have this whiskey neat. However, ensure that you don’t add a lot of water or use Cola. Enjoy the aroma and flavours of this blended scotch whiskey by having it neat.

4. Food pairings - Since this whiskey has a smooth and smoky taste, you can add something contrasting when it comes to food pairings. You can add some chocolates, dry fruits or marinated chicken with it. Adding something sweet and savoury will enhance the flavours of this whiskey and make it taste even better.

Pernod Ricard is considered to be the world’s most admired companies which has carved a niche in the liquor sector of the entire globe. It is known for producing some of the leading whiskey brands in the Indian market as well as the global market, such as the Glenlivet, Blender’s pride and Royal Salute. This brand is also known for a very compressive concept along with an approach towards sustainable development and helping deliver the right product at the right time for the right consumer.

Review of 100 Pipers

There is a sound piece of history which has inspired the birth of this brand. The 100 Pipers is a fine blend of around thirty whiskeys sources from in and around Scotland. This whiskey is aged in a combination of European Sherry and American ex-bourbon casks, and is regarded as one of the most renowned blends in Asia. It is also available in South America and parts of Europe.  This brand was taken over by Seagrams in 1949 which finally entered the American lands in the 60s in order to compete with the various ‘standard’ whiskeys available at that time. Although this blend isn’t premium, it still does a fair amount of justice to the ‘deluxe’ tag that it carries with itself. This golden coloured liquor is most definitely a candy to the eyes. The blend is grainy with some nice traces of cream and malt. The nose of this whiskey is vanilla and caramel with some hints of citrus and fresh malt. It is a very well constructed blend that has rightfully gained all the appreciation from the w...
